Shimla, Feb 11 (PTI) Cracking the whip, Congress today expelled two dozen rebels, including a former minister and three former MLAs, for working against the official candidates in the recent Himachal Pradesh assembly polls. Most of these leaders either contested elections against the party candidates or openly opposed them, HPCC President, Sukhvinder Singh Sukku told reporters here. These leaders were earlier suspended by the party and expulsion was done by the AICC on recommendations of the party's state unit, he added. The expelled leaders included former minister Ishwar Dass (Ani), former MLAs, Yograj (Dehra), Mast Ram (Karsog) and Kashmir Singh (Gumarwin), senior leaders Dharamvir Dhami (Manali), K D Lakhanpal (Bilaspur), Amar Chand Pal (Arki) and Paramjeet Pammi (Doon) for opposing the official party candidates. The HPCC president also announced dissolution of four block Congress Committees of Una, Bangana, Seraj and Paonta Sahib for gross indiscipline in the assembly polls and said that 15 Block Congress Committee (BCC) office bearers have also been suspended for working against the official party candidates.
