Ludhiana, Feb 11 (PTI) A college of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has been selected for the Centre's Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP). The College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAE&T) of the PAU has been selected for phase-II of TEQIP run by Union Human Resource Development Ministry. "The major objective of TEQIPII includes strengthening of the institutions to produce high quality engineers for better employability," COAE&T Dean Dr PPS Lubana said here today. Scaling-up postgraduate education and demand-driven research apart from development and innovation are the other prime objectives of the programme, Lubna said. The COAE&T will be granted about Rs 10 crore for the project. The programme aims at transforming the technical education system in the country with the help of World Bank and state governments, a PAU release said. PTI CHS NKB AVT
