New Noida SSP for focus on community policing

Noida, Feb 11 (PTI) Newly appointed Senior Superintendent of Police of Gautam Buddha Nagar Shalabh Mathur today said his thrust will be on community policing. "If people become the ear and eyes of the police, law and order could easily be brought under control and criminals will not dare to strike in the city," the 2006-batch IPS officer said during his first media interaction after taking charge last night. He said he would like to introduce "dost police" system in which policemen will behave as friend with public so that people do not have fear to go to police station to lodge FIR. At the same time, he warned that policemen showing slackness will not be tolerated at any cost. The SSP promised to make police functioning more transparent and sensitive. PTI COR SMI
