Raipur, Feb 11 (PTI) A doctor was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Naxal-affected Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh today, police said. "Omprakash Parakh, an eye-specialist, was stabbed to death by three masked assailants during the wee hours, when he was sleeping at his house in Kondagaon town," a senior police official told PTI over phone. "Prima facie it appears that some old rivalry could be the cause behind the killing," he added. The assailants locked watchman Rajkumar in the clinic located in the ground floor of the doctor's house. Later they entered into Parakh's room in the first floor, where his wife Kiran and nephew were also sleeping, and started attacking him with sharp weapons, the official said. Kiran and her nephew also received minor injuries when they attempted to prevent the attack. The injured doctor was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, the official said. A case has been registered and further probe was on. PTI TKP RSY
