One dies as Alang scrap warehouse catches fire

Bhavnagar, Dec 9 (PTI) One person died, while three others managed to escape unharmed when fire broke out at one of the scrap warehouses at the Alang ship breaking yard here today, police said. A scrap warehouse on plot 67 of the ship-breaking yard caught fire early this morning and engulfed a wooden cabin in which four watchmen were asleep, they said. Though three persons managed to escape, one Bajrangi Jha (32), a native of Doshiya village in Bihar, was charred to death, they said. The fire has been brought under control, police said, adding that a case of accidental death has been registered and further investigation is on, police said. PTI COR PB PD VKV
