India’s electric two-wheeler market clocked 96,031 registrations in September, with TVS Motor emerging as the top seller. Ather Energy broke into the top three for the first time, edging out Ola Electric in terms of market share.

TVS Motor sold 21,052 units during the month, securing the highest market share at 21.9 percent, up from 20.4 percent in the year-ago period, data on the government’s Vahan potal showed on September 30. Bajaj Auto followed with 17,972 units and  18.7 percent share, a tad lower from 20.9 percent last year.

Ather Energy rose to the third place with 16,558 units and a 17.2 percent market share, up from 14.6 percent a year ago.

The jump pushes Ola Electric to the fourth position. It registered 12,223 units, with a 12.7 percent share, down from 27.3 percent in September 2024.

The September data shows a reshuffle in the pecking order. TVS consolidated leadership, Ather entered the top three and Ola Electric ceded significant ground.

Hero MotoCorp’s Vida also gained traction, clocking 11,856 units, a 12.3 percent share against last year’ 4.7 percent, reflecting rising acceptance of its e-scooters.

Other notable players included Ampere (3,912 units; 4.1 percent share), BGauss (2,078 units; 2.2 percent share), Pure EV (1,674 units; 1.7 percent share) and River (1,519 units; 1.6 percent share).
