Eyewear brand Lenskart is opening up its upcoming smart glasses platform, B by Lenskart, to India’s developer community, inviting consumer apps and independent developers to build India-specific use cases and experiences.
'B by Lenskart' marks the company’s foray into the wearable tech space, blending eyewear with AI-driven experiences. As per reports, the device is designed to integrate everyday digital interactions into eyewear, offering features such as real-time notifications, camera-assisted functions, and voice-enabled controls.
Lenskart, per sources, has been testing early prototypes with select users and plans a commercial rollout by the end of 2025.
The company plans to make its AI and camera technology accessible to popular apps such as Zomato, Swiggy, and BookMyShow, along with indie developers, enabling integrations across food delivery, entertainment, fitness, and navigation.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, the glasses will feature a Sony camera, Google Gemini-powered AI assistant, wellness insights, live translation, and UPI payments, and are expected to launch by December 2025.
The firm declined to comment on the development.
Industry analysts estimate the global smart glasses market could reach $4–5 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual rate of nearly 30%, with India emerging as a key growth market.
