Panacea Biotec launches vaccine for newborns

Drug firm Panacea Biotec today announced launch of EasySix, a liquid hexavalent combination vaccine indicated for immunisation of newborn babies against common preventable diseases.

Drug firm Panacea Biotec today announced launch of EasySix, a liquid hexavalent combination vaccine indicated for immunisation of newborn babies against common preventable diseases. This is world's first fully liquid whole cell pertussis based vaccine and would work against diseases as diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, meningitis, hepatitis B and polio, Panacea Biotec said in a statement.

Commenting on the development Panacea Biotec Joint Managing Director Rajesh Jain said: "After 10 years of consistent R&D effort, Panacea Biotech takes immense pleasure and is proud to introduce world's first fully liquid WP based hexavalent vaccine."

EasySix has been found to be "immunogenic, safe and well tolerated" in phase I and III clinical trail conducted in various hospitals across India, it added.

Pancea Biotec has been developing superior innovative vaccines against infective diseases for more than three decades.
