RBI’s monetary policy prioritises global economic headwinds
Against the backdrop of geopolitical uncertainties and poly-crisis, the 51st RBI Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has kept the rates “status quo” at 6.5 percent. The poly- crisis includes the tensions in West Asia, energy price volatility, supply chain disruptions, fluctuating oil prices and mounting global inflation. The US Fed Reserve has reduced the rate by 50 bps in September 2024, however, RBI has given relative significance to the global economic headwinds and geopolitical uncertainties while taking the decisions. RBI MPC: Experts pick top 10 rate-sensitive stocks as RBI keeps repo rate unchanged, shifts stance to 'neutral'
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has on October 9 maintained repo rate unchanged at 6.5 percent for the 10th consecutive meeting with 5:1 vote, but unanimously changed the policy stance from 'withdrawal of accommodation' to ‘neutral’, raising the possibility of interest rate cut in the December meeting. South Korean auto giant Hyundai Motor Co's Indian arm Hyundai Motor India Limited is all set to shatter the previous record set by LIC and launch the country's biggest ever initial public offer (IPO) next week. At the higher end of the targeted valuation range of $19 billion, the issue, which involves a pure OFS or offer for sale by the parent (which will dilute 17.5 percent stake ), is looking to raise $3.3 billion or around Rs 27,856 crore, multiple people in the know told Moneycontrol on the condition of anonymity.
