Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 are likely to open flat on August 13, tracking cues from GIFT Nifty trading near 24,334, a short while ago this morning.

In the highly volatile market, the Indian benchmark indices ended marginally lower on August 12 with Nifty below 24,350 after US-based Hindenburg Research raised allegations against capital market regulator Sebi's chairperson.

At close, the Sensex was down 56.99 points or 0.07 percent at 79,648.92, and the Nifty was down 20.50 points or 0.08 percent at 24,347.

GIFT Nifty (Down)

The GIFT Nifty is trading marginally lower, indicating a flat start for the day. Nifty futures were trading at 24,334 at 07:00 am IST.

Asian Equities (Gain)

Japan’s major indexes gained more than 2 percent in Tuesday morning trading as they returned from a holiday.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 jumped 2.57 percent and breached 36,000 for the first time since August 2. The Topix followed suit, gaining 2.15 percent.

US Equities (Mixed)

Wall Street stocks closed mixed on Monday as investors braced for a slew of U.S. economic data this week, especially consumer prices, to gauge the outlook for Federal Reserve monetary policy.

The S&P 500 gained 0.23 points to end at 5,344.39 points, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 35.31 points, or 0.21%, to 16,780.61. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 140.53 points, or 0.36%, to 39,357.01.

US Bond Yield (Gains)
