    Asian markets trading firm; Nikkei, Straits Times up

    At 7: 55 am (IST), Asian markets were trading firm. China's Shanghai Composite was up 0.14% or 3.94 points at 2,794.64. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 0.12% or 27.50 points at 23,474.84. Japan's Nikkei added 0.34% or 34.77 points at 10,272.69. Singapore's Straits Times rose 0.54% or 17.41 points at 3,197.13.
