The Indian rupee opened at 45.55 per dollar versus 45.76 yesterday.

Manis Thanawala, Greenback Forex Services said that, "We expect the rupee to appreciate as the global stock market has shot up. The Egyptian situation seems to have settled and the slight drop in oil prices today will be positive for the rupee. Range for the day is seen at 45.50-45.90."
