Fire TV Stick subscribers in India reach 1 mn: Amazon India

Amazon has sold nearly 1 million Fire TV Sticks over the last two years in India, Parag Gupta, Head of Amazon Devices in India told Moneycontrol on May 16.

Gupta,who was speaking on the sidelines of the Tata Sky Binge launch event held in Mumbai on May 16, also added that subscribers stream an average of close to two hours on the device everyday, and currently has more than 34 million active users globally.

Tata Sky Binge will be accessible through the Amazon FireTV Stick – Tata Sky Edition. The service will be available to all Tata Sky subscribers at Rs 249 a month, along with a 30-day free trial

Tata Sky Binge will initially offer digital content from Hotstar, Sun NXT, Eros NOW and Hungama Play via a single subscription fee.

Subscribers will also have access to over 5,000 titles from the Tata Sky VOD (Video-on-demand) library along with TV shows airing in the past seven days.
