Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today termed the Union Budget as "disappointing" and "inflationary". "The Union Budget presented by the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is disappointing and inflationary as the excise duty and service tax were raised to 12% from the present 10%," Chouhan said in his reaction here.

The budget had once again exposed the Centre's anti-poor and anti-weaker section attitude, he added. Chouhan also said that lack of strong political will and uncertainty in policies had resulted in 1.5 per cent decline in growth rate, which was a matter of concern. The decline in industrial growth too was worrying, he added.
