Scindia to chair advisory group for reforms in power sector

Power minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will chair a high-profile advisory group mandated to discuss power related issues. Cyrus Mistry, Anil Ambani along with GMR chairman and Jaypee Group CEO will represent independent power producers in the group.

Power minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will chair a high-profile advisory group mandated to discuss power related issues. Cyrus Mistry, Anil Ambani along with GMR chairman and Jaypee Group CEO will represent independent power producers in the group.

Chanda Kochchar, CEO ICICI Bank and SBI chairman Pratip Choudhary will represent the banks. The group will meet periodically to suggest reforms in the power sector.

PSUs will also have representation in the group in the form of power grid CMD & BHEL CMD. Former bureaucrats from power ministry and ministry of environment and forest have also been made part of the advisory group. Power ministry is yet to announce date for the first meeting of the group.
