Textiles firm Trident reported 59.22 percent jump in standalone net profit at Rs 80.06 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, on account of higher sales.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 50.28 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Its total income from operations stood at Rs 1,181.73 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 972.84 crore for the same period a year ago.
In a separate filing to the bourses, the company said its Board has approved issuance of commercial papers up to Rs 200 crore and authorised financial management committee to negotiate and finalise the terms thereof and issue commercial papers in one or more tranches.
It also approved appointment of Hari Krishan as deputy company secretary and compliance officer of the company.
Shares of Trident were trading at Rs 61.70 on BSE, up 2.75 percent from its previous close.
