State-owned National Fertilisers Ltd (NFL) today reported an 11 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 46.51 crore for the quarter ended September 30.
Its net profit had stood at Rs 52.05 crore in the year-ago period, NFL said in a regulatory filing.
The company's income from operations fell by 16 per cent to Rs 1,901.94 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal from Rs 2,260.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
NFL has five gas-based urea plants -- Nangal & Bathinda in Punjab, Panipat in Haryana and two plants at Vijaipur in District Guna, Madhya Pradesh NFL is the second largest producer of Urea in the country with a total share of 15.5percent and largest Urea producer amongst public sector Urea producing companies.
The company had registered a Profit after Tax (PAT) of Rs 197.09 crore for the year 2015-16. The company has achieved the best ever urea production of 38 lakh tonne in the year 2015-16.
