Idea Cellular may see weak Q4; loss seen widening to over Rs 1,500 cr

    Idea Cellular may report a weak quarter that ended on March 31, 2018 with loss seen to the tune of Rs 1,580 crore against Rs 1,280 crore in the previous quarter.


    According to Motilal Oswal, the consolidated revenue may fall 4.2 percent QoQ to Rs 6,240 crore.


    The ARPU could decline 8 percent QoQ to Rs 104, the report said, adding that it could be hit by the downward revision in price plans by new entrants.


    Meanwhile, the EBITDA margin may contract 220 basis points QoQ due to a 17 percent plunge in revenue.

    - Consolidated revenue (expect 4.2% decline QoQ).


    - Blended ARPU (expect Rs 104, 8% QoQ fall).


    - EBITDA margin (expect 220bp contraction QoQ).


    The telecom major widened its net loss for the December quarter to Rs 1,284 crore from Rs 1,106 crore posted during the same period last year.
    The company’s consolidated revenue has come in at Rs 6,510 crore against Rs 7,465 crore. The poll hinted the figure to be Rs 6,738 crore.
