Depending on ramp-up, company can achieve 5 mt sales in India in FY19: JSPL

Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) is on our radar today after it reported its third-quarter earnings. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Naushad Akhter Ansari, CEO-Steel Business at JSPL discussed the company's Q3 performance.

Ansari said that the EBITDA per tonne is hovering at Rs 9,200-10,000 per tonne range depending on the steel product.

He further said that we cannot give a guidance on EBITDA per tonne for the future.

On the business front, he said, we have started the basic oxygen furnace at Angul in December 2017.

Our current focus is to increase utilization levels in India and Oman, he added.

He further mentioned that depending on the ramp-up, the company can achieve 5 million tonne sales in India in FY19.
