The Department of Fertiliser has proposed setting up of a sovereign wealth fund for the acquisition of mineral assets abroad, reports CNBC-TV18.

The Department of Fertiliser has proposed setting up of a sovereign wealth fund for the acquisition of mineral assets abroad, reports CNBC-TV18.

Sources say that the size of the fund would be roughly around USD 1 billion.

The proposal was taken up in a meeting with senior officials of the Prime Minister
