New Delhi: The Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, looking into the 2G spectrum allocation case, has summoned a key author of the CAG report on the 2G scam. Auditor RP Singh, who had disagreed with the loss estimate of Rs 1.76 lakh crore, has been summoned to court on Monday.

Singh earlier had dissented with the manner in which the 2G allocation was audited. Sources say he will be asked whether stands by his earlier statement.

Reports claim that he had written a fresh letter to the PAC saying that he now agreed with the calculated losses.

Sources add that Singh will also be quizzed on the reasons for his angry exchanges with other auditors.

CNN-IBN had earlier reported on how Singh had written to deputy CAG Rekha Gupta saying that he was being unfairly targeted by his superiors.

RP Singh, former Director General of Audit (Post and Telecommunications), was the lead auditor in 2G spectrum allocation and had reportedly disputed the loss figure of Rs 1.76 lakh crore. Singh had reportedly said the losses were to the tune of Rs 2,645 crore only.

In a letter to PAC, Singh maintained that under RTI, information was sought by an applicant requiring copies of correspondence between him and office of the CAG.

He also forwarded the draft audit report and other related documents to the PAC.
