The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has begun questioning Commonwealth Games chief Suresh Kalmadi for the first time.

The CBI is armed with critical documents they found during the raids on him on December 24. Sources say that Kalmadi is likely to be grilled about why he gave his approval to the release of 146 thousand pounds to UK-based AM Films during the queen's baton relay.

Kalmadi will be quizzed about the need to award the time scoring deal to Omega and why some bids weren't even opened. The overpricing of the aerostat and an alleged blackmail letter are also being looked at closely.
