HSBC India appoints Sandeep Uppal as MD & Head Commercial

HSBC India today announced the appointment of Sandeep Uppal as Managing Director & Head, Commercial Banking.

HSBC India today announced the appointment of Sandeep Uppal as Managing Director & Head, Commercial Banking. He succeeds Puneet Chaddha, who will move to a new role within the HSBC Group, details of which will be announced shortly, the bank said in a press release issued here.

Uppal joins HSBC India from HSBC Mauritius where he was the Chief Executive Officer from October 2006. He has extensive experience in banking and has spent over 19 years working in India, Philippines, UK, Hong Kong and most recently, Mauritius.

During this period, he has worked across a wide spectrum of banking activities including personal banking, trade services, corporate banking, strategic planning, private banking and commercial banking, the release said.

HSBC India''s CEO, Stuart A Davis, said "Sandeep�s vast experience across different product and customer groups as well as different geographies serves as a huge asset. Given his vast banking experience and his knowledge of multiple markets, I am confident that Sandeep is well-positioned to take our commercial banking business to the next level."
