Boeing India to open a 43 acre complex located at Aerospace Park in Devanahalli, near Kempegowda International Airport
Built with Rs 1600 crore investment, this will be the largest site for Boeing outside the United States. Boeing India has set a Rs 10,000 crore/yearly target for increasing sourcing from India, from the current Rs 8000 crore.
Earlier this year, Boeing had announced a $100 million investment in infrastructure and programs to train pilots in India, which came in on the heels of Air India signing firm orders of over 200 jets from Boeing, that included 20 787 Dreamliners, 10 777Xs, and 190 737 MAX narrowbody aircraft.
With Bengaluru expanding north, Devanahalli is turning out to be the hub of the city, primarily due to the proximity of the Kempegowda International Airport, as well as the convenience of the upcoming Blue metro line (KR Pura – Yelahanka – KIA), approved in April 2021. Cumulatively these developments have led to an increase in job opportunities, which has further fuelled the demand for housing in the region, thus leading Boeing to open its largest headquarters in this location.
Headquartered in Delhi, Boeing’s India operations include field service offices in Mumbai, Hindan, Rajali and New Delhi, and a rapidly growing Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) in Bengaluru and Chennai.
