The All India Bank Employees Association has called for a 1-day strike today. The strike, which is in protest Bank of India’s action, is likely to impact the services across the country. Here are top 5 updates on bank strike that you need to know:

1: The bank employees are protesting against Bank of India’s decision to chargesheet 13 bank staff union members.

2: AIBEA’s General Secretary CH Venkatchalam took to X (erstwhile Twitter) to share the update regarding the bank strike. In the statement, AIBEA has also mentioned its demand from the Centre.

3: “AIBEA’s call for strike on 28th August, 2024, Against political attack on trade union AIBOC–NCBE–BEFI–AIBOA–INBOC–INBEF extend support,” Venkatchalam wrote on X.

4: Other associations that will be joining AIBEA include All India Bank Officers Confederation, United Forum of Bank Unions, Bank Employees Federation of India, National Confederation of Bank Employees and All India Bank Officers Association.

5: Except the statement posted by Venkatchalam, there is no official communication regarding the bank strike. However, customers have been advised to check with their respective bank branch for any confirmation.
