Sai Dhanshika is hitting the headlines again, not for her film but because of rumours that she will get married to actor Vishal later in 2019. The couple made it official at a recent press meet that was held in Chennai. Vishal and Dhanshika took to the stage to announce that they are all set to get married on August 29th.
Early years and film debut
Sai Dhansika was born on 20th November 1989 in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, and made her film debut in the year 2006 in the Tamil film Manathodu Mazhaikalam, her onscreen name was Marina. The film, directed by Arputhan, was the latter's last film as a director and starred Shaam, Nithya Das and Jayasurya.
As Marina, she next featured in Maranthen Meimaranthen and Thirudi. She later stepped into the Kannada film industry with Kempa, with the screen name Thanushika.
Breakthrough with Peranmai
Sai Dhanshika gained attention through her performance in the 2009 Tamil action thriller Peranmai, opposite actor Jayam Ravi (then known as Ravi Mohan). In the Jananathan-directed film, she was one among five college girls on a mission in the jungle with a tribal forest officer. The survival thriller, based on the Soviet film The Dawns Here Are Quiet, marked Dhanshika's presence as an actor with substance.
Career Highlights: From Kabali To Multilingual Debuts
Through the years, Dhanshika became part of several projects, such as Maanja Velu with Arun Vijay, as well as the critically acclaimed Paradesi. But her most visible role was in 2016 when she featured as the defiant and independent daughter of movie superstar Rajinikanth in Kabali. Radhika Apte was the female lead in the film.
Post Kabali, Dhanshika was in the news very briefly when ‘Maamiyar and Maadhar Sangazhikuttru’ T. Rajendar (Simbu’s father) had a problem about her in public, but that was a little way on her path, and overall, this moment’s headlines didn’t sterilize her course.
She then made her Malayalam debut with Dulquer Salmaan's bilingual anthology Solo and in Telugu with the film Shikamaru.
