Ram Kapoor isn’t just brushing off the recent controversy — he’s rising above it with gratitude and grace.
The actor, who made headlines for his incredible 55 kg weight loss journey, has been caught in the middle of rumours suggesting that producer and long-time collaborator Ektaa Kapoor took a veiled dig at him — allegedly hinting he used Ozempic, a drug commonly linked to rapid weight loss.
But Ram isn’t letting the noise get in the way of a bond built over years of mutual respect.
Speaking candidly with Hindustan Times, Ram made it clear he believes Ektaa when she says the comment wasn’t aimed at him.
“I believe her,” he said. “Whatever comment it may have made on me or not made on me, whether I agree with it, whether I disagree with it… it is something that Ektaa has full right of doing because what Ektaa has done for me in my career is something that I will never forget.”
Ram and Ektaa go way back. From Kasamh Se to the fan-favourite Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, she has been instrumental in shaping his journey on television. So, for Ram, one moment of miscommunication doesn’t change the foundation.
“If she disagrees with something that I might have said on a podcast and because of that, if she has made any comment on me, I have no problem with it at all,” he explained. “She has earned the right to say whatever she likes because I will always respect her for what she has done for me.”
He also underlined how much he trusts her honesty.
“Ektaa is not the kind of person who ever says something that she doesn’t mean… If she has gone on record to say that she did not mean these comments towards me, I will believe her 100%.”
His closing words said it all.
“She gave me a platform on which I could fly… because of her I am what I am.”
Ektaa Kapoor, for her part, clarified that the remarks were part of a promo for her new show tackling body image issues and were taken out of context.
