Salman Khan's much-anticipated Eid release, Sikandar, hit theatres on March 30, 2025, after a two-year gap since his last Eid release. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar stars Rashmika Mandanna alongside Salman, continuing her successful run after films like Animal and Pushpa 2.

The film has kicked off its theatrical run with a bang, delivering an electrifying dose of entertainment that has already captivated audiences. With a staggering Rs 30.06 crore collected during the pre-Eid period, it has emerged as one of the biggest openers of 2025, signaling the start of what promises to be a record-breaking journey.

Bolstered by Salman Khan’s undeniable star power, the film has not only surpassed expectations but also set the stage for even bigger numbers. With Eid celebrations in full swing today, industry experts anticipate an even stronger surge at the box office, with tomorrow’s collections expected to solidify its blockbuster status.

According to box office data from Sacnilk.com, the film recorded an overall 21.60% Hindi occupancy on Sunday, March 30, 2025. The breakdown of the day's occupancy was as follows:

Morning Shows: 13.76%Afternoon Shows: 24.00%Evening Shows: 25.08%Night Shows: 23.55%

While the numbers show a decent turnout, they are not as impressive as some of Salman Khan’s previous Eid releases, which have seen extraordinary openings. For instance, Tiger 3 (2023) had an opening day collection of Rs 53.3 crore, and Sultan (2016) amassed Rs 36.54 crore on its release day.

Industry experts had initially predicted that Sikandar would break new records and potentially place Salman Khan in the coveted Rs 500-crore club, a feat achieved by his contemporaries like Shah Rukh Khan with Pathaan and Jawan, Sunny Deol with Gadar 2, and even Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal with Animal and Chhaava, respectively. Despite these lofty expectations, Sikandar’s performance so far suggests that it may not reach the monumental heights of some of the other recent blockbusters.

Nevertheless, with Salman Khan’s star power and Rashmika Mandanna’s growing popularity, the film may still have a long way to go, and its long-term box office performance will likely determine its place in Bollywood history.

SIKANDAR REVIEW

A part of Moneycontrol.com review read, "‘Sikandar’ suffers from poor performances, an unimaginative plot, and a weak screenplay. The songs fail to leave an impact, and even the emotional moments lack depth. The film takes significant creative liberties—Pradhan is portrayed as an all-powerful politician, manipulating both the police and immigration departments effortlessly. Salman Khan’s character, meanwhile, remains static from start to finish, prioritizing action over acting."
