The tragic events at the premiere of the much-awaited Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2have left fans and the film industry in shock. Held at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4, 2024, the premiere screening drew massive crowds, leading to a stampede that claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and critically injured her 8-year-old son. The child is currently receiving treatment at KIMS Hospital.

The unfortunate incident has garnered widespread attention, with the film’s production house, Mythri Movie Makers, expressing deep sorrow. In their statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the producers conveyed their heartbreak over the tragedy and pledged their support to the affected family. “We are extremely heartbroken by the tragic incident during last night’s screening,” they wrote. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the young child undergoing medical treatment.”

The producers further assured the public of their commitment to assisting the family during this challenging time. “We are committed to standing by them and extending all possible support during this difficult time,” the statement read. This gesture, though a small solace amidst the grief, highlights the production team’s sense of responsibility toward their fans and the community.

According to reports, the situation turned chaotic as fans thronged the venue to catch a glimpse of their favorite star and be part of the film’s grand premiere. Despite security measures, the overwhelming crowd led to an uncontrollable rush, culminating in the tragic stampede. During the chaos, the 8-year-old boy collapsed but was revived thanks to the prompt actions of bystanders, security personnel, and the Hyderabad police, who administered Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at the scene. The timely medical intervention proved crucial in saving the boy’s life.
