Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has showered praise on Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh, describing it as a “remarkable fusion of tradition and technology.”
The series — India’s first-ever AI-powered premium entertainment project — has caught the attention of both political leaders and the public for its bold and futuristic approach to retelling one of the greatest epics ever written.
Taking to social media, Fadnavis shared his admiration for the show’s trailer, posting the timeless verse from the Bhagavad Gita:
“यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत…”
The powerful line, meaning “Whenever righteousness declines, O Bharata…”, perfectly captures the moral essence of the Mahabharat, where the eternal battle between right and wrong, truth and deception, plays out on a cosmic scale.
Fadnavis commended Jiostar’s visionary team for breathing new life into the centuries-old tale through artificial intelligence, applauding the creators for preserving the epic’s spiritual and philosophical heart while exploring new frontiers of storytelling.
He described the project as “a bold step forward for Indian storytelling — one that bridges ancient wisdom with modern innovation.”
Produced by Jiostar in association with Collective Media Network, Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh marks a new chapter in Indian entertainment.
The series employs AI-driven visuals and digital recreations to bring to life the legendary feud between the Pandavas and the Kauravas — brothers turned rivals in a moral and dynastic war that has echoed through centuries.

Spanning 100 episodes, the show promises to be a grand cinematic experience — combining mythological grandeur with futuristic visual design. It is currently streaming on JioHotstar, and will make its television premiere on Star Plus on 26 October at 7:30 PM.
Viewers are being invited to rediscover the Mahabharat in a way that feels both timeless and new — an ancient story told through the language of modern technology.
What makes this adaptation truly groundbreaking is its use of AI to recreate characters, landscapes, and battle sequences with breathtaking precision.
