Actor Karisma Kapoor is keeping a low profile and concentrating on her work even as her late ex-husband Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore estate becomes the subject of a heated legal dispute.
Sunjay’s children with Karisma, Samaira and Kiaan, have moved Delhi High Court alleging that they were unfairly excluded from their father’s will. The siblings have accused Sunjay’s widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur, of forging the will and leaving them out of the inheritance.
According to their plea, Sunjay had “repeatedly assured” them of their share in the estate, but the final document, allegedly executed in March this year, omitted their names. The petition also sought an injunction preventing the transfer or disposal of the property.
Priya’s legal team has rejected the allegations, arguing that she is Sunjay’s legally wedded wife. Her lawyer, Rajiv Nayyar, pointed out that Karisma had been estranged from Sunjay since their divorce in 2016. “Your husband left you several years ago,” Nayyar said, while questioning Karisma’s presence in the dispute through her children.
Justice Jyoti Singh directed Priya to file her replies and submit a list of all movable and immovable assets belonging to Sunjay. The case has been listed for further hearing on October 9.

Sunjay Kapur, chairman of auto parts manufacturer Sona Comstar, died in London in June after a suspected heart attack. His estate, reportedly worth Rs 30,000 crore, includes business interests and extensive properties.
Meanwhile, sources close to Karisma say the actor is distancing herself from the controversy. “At the moment, Karisma is in Mumbai and totally focused on her work. She is not letting the controversy surrounding her ex-husband Sunjay Kapur's estate impact her professional life,” according to Hindustan Times.
“Karisma is fulfilling her professional commitment as usual. She is shooting for several projects. She was recently seen in Super Dancer Chapter 5 as a special guest, and even travelled for an event. And she intends to continue to do that. Because the show must go on," the source said.
Karisma and Sunjay were married from 2003 to 2016 and share two children. Sunjay married Priya Sachdev in 2017.
