Carrie Anne Fleming, a familiar face for fans of shows like Supernatural and iZombie, has passed away at the age of 51.
The Canadian actress died on 26 February in Sidney, British Columbia. Her co-star Jim Beaver confirmed to Variety that the cause of her death was complications related to breast cancer.
Born on 16 August 1974 in Digby, Nova Scotia, Carrie Anne Fleming’s journey into acting began at a young age. After moving to Victoria, British Columbia, she attended Mount Douglas Senior Secondary and went on to train in drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and the Kidco Theatre Dance Company. It was clear early on that performing was something she was deeply passionate about.
Carrie Anne Fleming slowly built her career, starting with smaller roles in television and film, including appearances in Viper and the Adam Sandler film Happy Gilmore. Like many actors, her path wasn’t overnight success, but one shaped by steady work and persistence.
She found her space in the horror genre, where she delivered some of her most memorable performances. One standout role came in 2005, when director Dario Argento cast her in Masters of Horror. In the episode Jenifer, Carrie Anne Fleming played a haunting and complex character, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.
For many fans, however, she will always be remembered as Karen Singer in Supernatural. Her role as the wife of Bobby Singer brought emotional depth to the series, making her a familiar and loved presence on the show.
She also showed her range with roles outside horror, including the 2015 television film The Unauthorized Full House Story, and her recurring role as Candy Baker in iZombie, where she appeared over multiple seasons.
Beyond the screen, Carrie Anne Fleming remained connected to theatre, performing in stage productions such as Romeo and Juliet, Steel Magnolias and Fame in British Columbia.
Carrie Anne Fleming is survived by her daughter, Madalyn Rose (Max). A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
