The Indian entertainment industry continues to mourn the sudden demise of veteran actor Satish Shah, whose comic genius and endearing persona left an indelible mark on television and film.
Following the actor’s funeral, co-star Rajesh Kumar, who played the lovable Rosesh Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, spoke to the media with folded hands, visibly emotional, and shared his heart-wrenching tribute.
“Mere pitaji gaye hain. Bas itna hi kahunga. Yaad ab karne ka… 21 saal ki har cheez yaad aati hai,” Rajesh said, his voice breaking as he recalled the decades-long bond he shared with Shah both on and off the screen.
Rajesh Kumar, who grew up working alongside Satish Shah in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, described the late actor not just as a colleague but as a father figure.
The show, which aired from 2004 and went on to become a cult classic, brought families together with its clever humour, quirky characters, and memorable dialogues. Satish Shah’s portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai remains etched in the hearts of millions, and for Rajesh, the memories are personal as well as professional.
Over the years, the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai team became a close-knit family, sharing laughter, rehearsals, and behind-the-scenes moments. Rajesh’s emotional words highlighted the depth of that bond.
