Punjabi singer, actor Diljit Dosanjh made a striking appearance at the 53rd International Emmy Awards in New York, turning heads on the prestigious red carpet. His film Amar Singh Chamkila had earned two major nominations—Best Actor for Diljit and Best TV Movie/Mini-Series.
The singer-actor attended the event in a champagne-beige sequin blazer, effortlessly blending style with confidence.
Even though India didn’t take home any awards this year, Diljit’s presence was widely appreciated.
Sharing photos from the ceremony, Netflix India wrote, “From the pind to the International Emmy’s red carpet, Chamkila shines on,” celebrating the global recognition of the film and its star.
Amar Singh Chamkila's director, Imtiaz Ali, attended the event as well and chose to dress entirely in black for the glitzy evening.
Diljit Dosanjh wore an ivory shirt underneath the blazer, which complemented the delicate hues of his jacket. To balance the ensemble, he opted for basic, straight-cut jet-black trousers. He completed the ensemble with his trademark black turban, which was expertly tied, structured, and in place, adding a touch of effortless elegance.
This year's International Emmys, which were hosted by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, recognised the top television shows and films from around the world in 16 categories. The UK, Spain, and Germany were among the nations that won. Despite being nominated in two competitive categories, Amar Singh Chamkila failed to win.
Along with the Indian title, the ceremony featured a number of notable contenders, such as Netflix's 100 Years of Solitude, which received multiple nominations, Hulu's vintage British drama Rivals, and the BBC's crime dramedy Ludwig.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Diljit recently released his new album Kufar, featuring Manushi Chhillar. He will also appear in Border 2, alongside Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol, and Ahan Shetty, which is slated for release next year.
