Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a stunning appearance at the IIFA Utsavam 2024 in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. The duo graced the red carpet together, radiating warmth and charm. During her interaction with the media, Aishwarya revealed why Aaradhya often joins her at high-profile events.
In a lighthearted moment, a reporter asked Aishwarya why her daughter accompanies her everywhere. Laughing, Aishwarya responded, “She's my daughter. She goes with me everywhere,” showing the close bond between mother and daughter.
Later, in a video shared by ANI on Instagram, another reporter, who is a mother herself, asked Aishwarya for advice on raising a daughter. Aishwarya humbly replied, “Oh wow, listen, you are a mother and you know best. We are all human beings, we’re not going to sit and advise each other or share rules. There is no handbook or rulebook we’re born with. You do you, and you’re incredible with your daughter. Blessings and love.”
This event followed Aaradhya’s recent trip to Paris with her mother, where Aishwarya walked the runway at a L'Oreal Paris event. Aaradhya has accompanied Aishwarya to several prestigious events, including the Cannes Film Festival.
IIFA Utsavam also shared a touching clip of Aishwarya presenting the Best Director (Tamil) award to filmmaker Mani Ratnam for Ponniyin Selvan II. In the video, Aishwarya is seen touching Mani Ratnam’s feet to seek his blessings, a gesture that highlighted her deep respect for the veteran director. The two shared a warm hug on stage, celebrating their collaboration on the Ponniyin Selvan franchise. Mani Ratnam attended the event in a blue jacket and white shirt, while Aishwarya dazzled in a black and gold outfit.
Aishwarya, who won the Best Actress (Tamil) award for her role in Ponniyin Selvan II, spoke about her long-standing association with Mani Ratnam. She expressed her gratitude for being a part of his films, starting with her debut, Iruvar. Reflecting on their journey, she said, “I can’t even speak about his evolution as a maker because I’ve always respected him. From the beginning, I’ve been grateful to work with him. I was so honored when he asked me to be his Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan.”
The Ponniyin Selvan II cast, including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha, has received widespread acclaim. The epic drama continues to narrate the saga of the Chola Dynasty, building on the success of the 2022 film.
The 2024 IIFA Utsavam marks a three-day extravaganza, dedicated to celebrating the southern film industries—Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The event began on September 27 and will culminate on September 29. Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Karan Johar will take the stage to host the IIFA Awards night on day two. Legendary actress Rekha will make a much-anticipated return to the IIFA stage after a long hiatus, while performances by Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal are also expected to wow the audience.
