Jodhpur collector has declared that schools in the district will remain shut from May 8 as tensions escalate between India and Pakistan, the local administration said in a statement on May 7.

All the exams and other scheduled events will remain postponed for the time being, the statement said.

The order comes in the backdrop of Operation Sindoor, under which India successfully targeted nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir killing.

India’s operation, carried out in the early hours of May 7, was in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April that led to the death of 25 Indian civilians and a Nepali citizen.
