Victoris vs Creta vs Seltos vs Hyryder vs Grand Vitara: Where the price starts & where it ends?

The entry-level variant of the new Victoris is cheaper than that of rivals like the Creta, Seltos, Hyryder and Grand Vitara.

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has entered the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment, where it rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Let us check out how the new entrant stacks up against the more established players in terms of price.

The Victoris starts at Rs 10,49,900 and goes up to Rs 19,98,900. In comparison, the segment leader, Creta, sits in the price bracket of Rs 11,10,900 to Rs 20,92,000. The Seltos can be had in the range of Rs 11,18,900 to Rs 20,55,900.

The Grand Vitara is priced between Rs 11,42,000 and Rs 20,68,000. The price of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is from Rs 11,34,000 to Rs 20,19,000. For reference, all the prices mentioned are ex-showroom.

The Victoris has the same powertrain options as the Grand Vitara and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder -- 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol (103PS and 139Nm) with 5-speed MT or 6-speed AT, 1.5-litre CNG (88PS and 121Nm) with a 5-speed MT, and 1.5-litre strong hybrid (combined 116PS and 141Nm) with an e-CVT.

The Creta and the Seltos have the same internal combustion engine (ICE) options -- 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol (115PS and 144Nm), 1.5-litre turbo petrol (160PS and 253Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel (116PS and 250Nm). They also share transmission options like 6-speed MT, IVT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed AT. There is also a 6-speed iMT in the Seltos.

Maruti opened bookings for the Victoris on September 3, the same day the SUV was unveiled. According to the country's largest carmaker, the new model has received 1,000 bookings per day.

With two mid-size SUVs, the Victoris and the Grand Vitara, Maruti is aiming to become the leader in the segment, which is dominated by the Creta.

The new SUV boasts features like Level-2 ADAS, Dolby Atmos and a powered tailgate with gesture control. With all these features, the Victoris is arguably the most technologically advanced car in Maruti's overall portfolio in India.

The Victoris has also scored a 5-star safety rating at both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. It is the only Maruti car to have achieved such a high safety rating in crash tests performed at the two safety assessment programs.
