Tesla has opened India's first integrated Tesla Centre in Gurugram, marking a major expansion of its retail and charging footprint in the country. The new facility, located at Orchid Business Park in Sector 48, brings together retail operations, deliveries, after-sales service and charging infrastructure under one roof.
The company said the Gurugram facility is designed to cater to rising demand from customers in northern India. Visitors can explore Tesla technologies, take test drives of the Model Y, access vehicle servicing and use on-site V4 Superchargers. Tesla has also put its Optimus Gen 2 robot on display at the Gurugram location, in addition to Mumbai and Delhi.
Tesla said the opening of the Gurugram Centre is part of a wider rollout undertaken since its market debut in July. Tesla has already operationalised Experience Centres in Mumbai (Maker Maxity, Bandra Kurla Complex) and Delhi (Worldmark 3, Aerocity), and commissioned three charging sites across these cities. A new charging site at One Horizon in Gurugram is expected to go live soon. With that addition, Tesla will operate four charging stations equipped with 16 Superchargers and 10 Destination Chargers.

We are opening our first all-in-one Tesla Centre in Gurugram -- combining experience centre, after-sales service, delivery, and charging station in one place. By building charging infrastructure that fits people's daily lives, we are making electric driving convenient for everyone in India. The network will expand rapidly for a seamless EV experience. Our direct business model has sparked huge excitement for electric mobility, driving strong adoption and lasting confidence in sustainable transport across India."
Tesla currently sells only the Model Y in India. The electric SUV reaches the market as a fully imported CBU from Tesla's Shanghai plant and is offered in a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration.
There are two variants on sale -- the standard RWD priced at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Long Range RWD at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices are significantly higher than in overseas markets due to India's high import duties on CBUs.
The standard RWD version offers a claimed range of up to 500km on a full charge, while the Long Range model increases this to 622km. The 0-100kmph acceleration time is 5.9 seconds for the standard variant and 5.6 seconds for the Long Range, with both models capped at a 201kmph top speed. With a fast charger, the standard Model Y can regain about 238km of range in 15 minutes, while the Long Range can add roughly 267km in the same time.
The Model Y follows Tesla's minimalist design language with an aerodynamic profile, clean body lines, sharp elements and full LED lighting with lightbars at both ends. It also uses eight cameras to support its driver-assistance features.
Inside, the cabin is finished with aluminium accents and premium materials. The SUV is equipped with a 15.4-inch touchscreen at the front and an 8-inch display for rear passengers. The front seats are powered and ventilated, and the second row gets heating, power folding and two-way adjustment. Ambient lighting is placed in the doors and footwells, and the car comes with a nine-speaker audio setup.
Tesla has worked to improve overall cabin comfort with an updated suspension and laminated glass for the roof and windows to reduce noise levels. The Model Y is offered in six exterior colours, with Stealth Grey as the standard option and the rest available at premiums of up to Rs 1.85 lakh.
According to data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), Tesla delivered 104 vehicles in India across September and October. As a CBU, the Model Y attracts an import duty of 70% in India, resulting in a high ex-showroom price and positioning it against luxury electric SUVs from Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
