New Delhi, Nov 8 (PTI) One person has been arrested from North Delhi district for allegedly smuggling deer horns to sell them to a customer, police said today. "Sampannn Sharma, a resident of Civil Lines in Mordabad in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested on specific inputs that he would be coming to Furkania Masjid T-Point at Inderlok with horns of spotted Deer (cheetal) in a blue colour car. Based on this information, trap was raid and he was arrested yesterday," ACP North District A K Singh said. Police seized four horns during the search of the car. During interrogation, Sharma told cops that his business had failed and had taken loans from his friends and relatives and they were demanding him to return their money. Sharma decided to sell the horns, which was with his family for generations, through a conduit at Inderlok in Delhi. He wanted to sell the horns for Rs two lakh each as he needed large amount of money to pay back his debts. The deal was struck through decoy customer and later he was apprehended, police said.
