GMR Infra Q1 net loss zooms to Rs 123 cr

    GMR Infra today reported a multi-fold jump in its standalone net loss at Rs 123.1 crore for the first quarter ended June 2016.

    The diversified group, with interest in energy, roads and airport sectors, had logged a net loss of Rs 1.33 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a BSE filing.

    Total standalone income of the company was higher at Rs 361.3 crore for April-June this fiscal, from Rs 269.2 crore during the same quarter in 2015-16.

    Its expenses came in higher at Rs 80.9 crore during the period under review, from the Rs 36.8 crore earlier.

    Last month, GMR Infrastructure said it plans to raise up to Rs 2,500 crore through issuance of equity, equity-linked instruments, debentures or any other securities.

    The Bengaluru-headquartered firm is a major player in the infrastructure sector, with projects in India and abroad. It has been developing projects in sectors like airport, energy, transportation and urban infrastructure.
