Demand for small idols has risen by 20%


With experts worried about another slowdown, the average Mumbaikar seems to have taken the doomsday prediction to heart and is rearing up to please the remover of obstacles, Ganpati.

Idol makers say business has been good this festive season. And driving sales are the small idols worshipped at home. The number of orders for big idols (more than six feet tall) has seen the usual rise of 5% over last year. But the demand for small idols has risen by 20%.
