PM pitches for increase in strategic trust with China

Prime Minister Narendra Modi pitched for increase in strategic trust and maintenance of peace and tranquility on the border to promote overall ties with China. He made the remarks while meeting Gen. Fan Changlong, Vice Chairman of Central Military Commission of China here.

The general briefed Modi on growing military-to-military relations between India and China, a PMO statement said. The Prime Minister said "it is important to enhance strategic trust and maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas, in order to promote overall bilateral ties," according to the statement. Modi welcomed the steps taken to strengthen military cooperation between India and China.

He welcomed the participation of PLA Navy in the International Fleet Review to be held in India in 2016, the statement said.
