2 workmen killed in explosion at Gulf Oil's Hyderabad factory

Gulf Oil said in explosion at Hyderabad factory killed 2 workmen on April 25 and other operations in factory continued normally

    Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd has informed BSE about as follows:There was an explosion in the Finishing Section of the Detonating Cord Plant at Hyderabad Factory on April 25, during the 2nd shift at around 7.09 pm. The explosion caused a cave in of the roof in the Finishing Section and some damages in the spinning and packing sections. The cave in of the roof in the Finishing Section resulted in the unfortunate death of 2 workmen.However, no other workmen/ supervisors were injured in this incident.The affected Detonating Cord Plant contributes approximately Rs. 12 crores annually to the total turnover of Rs. 83 crores of the Factory.The entire plant and machinery is insured. The cause of the accident, full extent of the damage and restart of operations is being assessed.All other operations in the Hyderabad Factory are continuing normally.Source : BSE
