US President Donald Trump on Monday said he will cut short to "10-12 days" the 50-day deadline he had given Russia to reach a settlement with Ukraine or face “severe" economic sanctions. Speaking to reporters, Trump expressed disappointment with Russian President Vladimir Putin for failing to commit to a ceasefire.
“I’ve spoken to President Putin a lot. We got along really well… We thought we had it settled numerous times, and then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city like Kyiv and kills people in a nursing home or whatever. Bodies lying all over the street," Trump said while addressing the media alongside British PM Keir Starmer and his wife at his luxury golf course in Turnberry, Scotland.
“I am very disappointed in President Putin. Very disappointed in him. I’m going to reduce that 50 days that I gave him to a lesser number because I think I already know the answer to what’s going to happen," he added, without specifying a new timeline.
Meanwhile, after Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that the regime would not reveal the commander’s identity “for his protection,” the X account claimed it already knew the name. It even urged Iranians to submit their guesses.
The account later responded to the “lucky winner” who guessed the name Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, instructing the user to “contact us privately to receive your prize.”
