US President Donald Trump is expected to visit Pakistan in September, according to reports from two local television news channels, as cited by Reuters. The reports reference unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
Trump is likely to visit Pakistan on September 18 as part of his South Asia tour, according to Pakistan's Samaa TV.
Pakistani TV channels, as cited by Reuters, have also reported that President Trump is expected to visit India following his arrival in Islamabad this September.
If confirmed, the visit would be the first by a U.S. president since nearly two decades ago, when President George W. Bush visited Pakistan in 2006.
This comes after Trump hosted Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir at the White House last month.
However, a spokesperson for Pakistan's Foreign Office said they were not aware of President Trump's expected visit, according to Reuters.
