A Russian Ka-52 “Alligator” attack helicopter has been destroyed along with its crew, according to a report by Militarnyi on October 27.
The outlet, citing Russian military channels, said the aircraft was lost during combat operations over occupied territory, though the exact location was not revealed.
The pro-Russian Telegram channel Fighterbomber, which is closely associated with Russian military aviation, confirmed the incident, stating that “the helicopter did not return from a combat mission, and the crew died.” However, it did not specify what caused the crash.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat previously told Ukrainska Pravda that the Ka-52 “remains one of the most dangerous enemy aircraft,” but added that “Ukraine’s mobile air defense groups are successfully hunting them.”
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (HUR) claimed to have eliminated the son of a Russian general in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, an area largely under Russian control. According to HUR, Lt. Vasily Marzoev was killed by a glide bomb after drone operators in his unit were detected in Plavni. The agency released footage of the strike, saying it occurred on October 27.
Earlier reports indicated that a Russian Ka-52 helicopter had crashed with both pilots dead, with Russian sources asserting that there was no enemy fire involved and withholding the location of the incident.
