Over 200 places in the Iranian capital have been hit in Israeli strikes since the start of the war ten days ago, Tehran's provincial governor said Sunday.

"More than 200 locations have been attacked by the usurping Zionist regime," governor Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian told state TV.

He said over 120 residential housing units "have been fully destroyed" while 500 others suffered "damages."

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke to France's President Emmanuel Macron on the phone, and told him that the Americans must receive a response for their aggression, Iranian news agencies reported.

Ali Shamkhani, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, wrote on X: "Even if nuclear sites are destroyed, game isn’t over".

The United States embassy in Lebanon said that the State Department on Sunday ordered the departure of family members and non-emergency US government personnel from Lebanon, after Washington launched strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

"On June 22, 2025, the U.S. Department of State ordered the departure of family members and non-emergency U.S. government personnel from Lebanon due to the volatile and unpredictable security situation in the region," said a statement on the US embassy website. Washington has a "do not travel" advisory in place for Lebanon.

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said Sunday that the United States must "receive a response" to attacks on nuclear sites in the Islamic republic during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron.

"The Americans must receive a response to their aggression," Pezeshkian told the French leader, according to the official IRNA news agency.

Iran said on Sunday that it was ready to defend itself by "all necessary means" after unprecedented US strikes on its nuclear facilities.

"Iran is resolutely determined to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security and people by all necessary means," foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei posted on X, condemning what he described as an "unconscionable act of aggression -- perpetrated by a nuclear-armed state... against a non-nuclear weapon country".

Iran's health ministry acknowledged Sunday that US strikes on the country's nuclear facilities had wounded an unspecified number of people, but none "showed any signs of radioactive contamination" after seeking treatment.

"For years, the Ministry of Health has set up nuclear emergency units in the nearest medical facilities to nuclear sites," ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour said on X. "Fortunately, none of the injured individuals who were transferred to these centres following the American bombardment showed any signs of radioactive contamination."

An Israeli airstrike killed three members of Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, semiofficial news agencies in the Islamic Republic reported Sunday.

The Mehr and Tasnim news agencies reported the attack took place in Zanjan province.

British Airways canceled flights on Sunday from London to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar after the U.S. attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities.

All flights from Heathrow Airport to Dubai and Doha were canceled for the day. The airline diverted a Dubai-bound airliner Saturday night to Zurich. Flight BA109 was turned around after reaching Saudi Arabia, the airline said.

The airline said it was offering flexible rebooking for customers scheduled to fly to the two cities through Tuesday.

The Israeli military said its fighter jets had struck "dozens" of targets across Iran on Sunday, including a long-range missile site in Yazd in the centre of the country for the first time.

A statement said that "approximately 30 IAF (air force) fighter jets struck dozens of military targets throughout Iran", including "the 'Imam Hussein' Strategic Missile Command Center in the Yazd area, where long-range Khorramshahr missiles were stored"

The US air strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities made the world more secure, Secretary of State Marco Rubio asserted Sunday, rejecting fears that the action could ignite a wider conflict.

"I think the world today is safer and more stable than it was 24 hours ago," he told Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures" program, warning the Middle Eastern nation that it risked further reprisals if it insisted on maintaining a "secret" nuclear program.

US Vice President JD Vance says the United States has successfully set back Iran’s nuclear weapons program, adding that US President Donald Trump now hopes to pursue a diplomatic solution.

Iran’s parliament has approved a measure to close the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route, following US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, state-run Press TV reported on Sunday.

Major General Kowsari, a member of the parliament’s National Security Committee, told state media that while the parliament has reached a consensus in favor of closing the strait, the final decision rests with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the country’s highest security authority.

China strongly condemned the US attacks on Iran and bombing of nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the IAEA.

French President Emmanuel Macron will hold an emergency security cabinet meeting today to discuss the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran following the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities early this morning, the French presidency announced.

Macron, who has discussed the conflict with several Arab leaders, including those of Saudi Arabia and Oman, will speak further with European and regional leaders during the day, the French presidency said, according to a report by The Times of Israel.

France distanced itself from the US strikes and urged “all parties to exercise restraint,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot wrote in a post on X.

After US carried out strikes in Iran, US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth addressed a presser from Pentagon and said, "Iran's nuclear ambitions have been obliterated. The operation did not target Iranian troops or people."

"American deterrence is back. Trump seeks peace. Iran should take that. We have devastated Iranian nuclear program. Attack on Iranian nuclear sites was incredible and overwhelming success. God bless our troops. God bless America," he added.

The head of Iran’s Red Crescent Society, Pir Hossein Kolivand, says there were no fatalities in the US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“Fortunately, we did not have any martyrs in last night’s events of the US aggression against Iran’s nuclear facilities,” he says according to state television.

Russia says that it “strongly condemned” the United States’s bombings of nuclear sites in Iran, calling the attacks “irresponsible” and a “gross violation of international law.”

“It is already clear that a dangerous escalation has begun, fraught with further undermining of regional and global security,” the Russian foreign ministry added in a statement, according to The Times of Israel.

The Federation of Local Authorities in Israel reported that around 9,000 people have been evacuated from their homes since Israel’s operation against Iran began, according to The Times of Israel.

Thousands are being accommodated in hotels, while others have moved in with friends and family.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, responding to a question from a Russian outlet, said he’ll travel to Moscow today to meet with President Vladimir Putin, after the US struck Iranian nuclear sites.

“We enjoy a strategic partnership and we always consult with each other and coordinate our positions,” he said, referring to Russia.

Bahrain and Kuwait, home to U.S. bases, made preparations on Sunday for the possibility the Iran conflict might spread to their territory, with Bahrain urging drivers to avoid main roads and Kuwait establishing shelters in a ministries complex after U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday the United States and Israel "decided to blow up" diplomacy when they launched strikes on his country's nuclear sites.

In a post on X, Araghchi said Israel blew up negotiations between Tehran and Washington with its strikes on June 13, while the United States did the same to talks with European powers this week with its strikes on Sunday. Addressing European calls for Iran to return to negotiations, he asked "how can Iran return to something it never left".

Pakistan has, meanwhile, sharply criticised Washington for launching airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

In a strongly worded statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry expressed “grave concern” over the U.S. military action, warning that the strikes risk further escalating tensions across the already volatile region.

“We are gravely concerned at the possible further escalation of tensions in the region,” the ministry said.

Pakistan, which shares a 900-kilometer border with Iran, noted that the attacks were a violation of international law and affirmed Iran’s right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter.

Britain was informed in advance of the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites but did not receive any request from Washington to use its military base on Diego Garcia for the operation, UK Business and Trade Minister Jonathan Reynolds said today.

Speaking to Sky News, Reynolds clarified that although the U.S. has previously sought access to British military facilities, such as RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus or Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, no such request was made this time.

“No request was made,” Reynolds said. “I know often, because of British military assets like RAF Akrotiri or Diego Garcia, sometimes that request is made. But this was not a situation where that request was made.”

He confirmed, however, that the UK had been notified ahead of the strikes.

Iran has detained the family members of a journalist working for Iran International, a London-based Farsi-language news outlet, in what the channel describes as an attempt to coerce the journalist into resigning.

According to a statement issued by Iran International, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) abducted the journalist’s mother, father, and younger brother on Saturday and took them to an undisclosed location.

Shortly afterward, the journalist received a phone call from her father, who, with security agents reportedly feeding him instructions in the background, urged her to resign from her position.

The broadcaster condemned the incident as “an appalling act of hostage-taking aimed at coercing our colleague into resigning from their post.”

The journalist’s name has not been disclosed due to security concerns.

Meanwhile, the body of Jonathan Samerano, who was abducted by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, terror attack, has been recovered from the Gaza Strip, his father Kobi Samerano announced on Instagram.

“Yesterday was Yonati’s Hebrew birthday. On his 23rd birthday, on the very day he was born, our Yonati was rescued in a heroic operation by the brave soldiers of the IDF and the Shin Bet,” he wrote.

The IDF has not yet issued a statement confirming or commenting on the operation.

Samerano, 21 at the time of the attack, had fled the Nova music festival with two friends when Hamas gunmen stormed southern Israel.

The three took refuge in Kibbutz Be’eri, where they were murdered. Samerano’s body was taken into Gaza by the militants.

The escalating military conflict in the Middle East could lead to a war with far-reaching and irreversible consequences, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warned today.

“The intensification and spread of major military operations in the Middle East risk engulfing the region, and the world, in a war with irreversible consequences,” said ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric in a statement issued after U.S. airstrikes targeted key Iranian nuclear facilities.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has said that Iran has likely lost the ability to launch a mass strike of 100 ballistic missiles simultaneously at Israel, reported The Jerusalem Post.

The assessment reportedly follows the U.S. airstrike on Fordow, considered Iran’s most vital remaining nuclear facility.

According to the IDF, Iran’s retaliatory response late Sunday morning, which consisted of multiple salvos totaling just 20 to 30 missiles, was likely the regime’s “best shot” under current conditions.

Israel said it carried out a precision strike on Iranian fighter aircraft at Dezful airport, as hostilities intensified in the wake of U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

The targeted aircraft were F-5 jets, decades-old warplanes from Iran’s pre-revolutionary era under the shah.

Yemen’s rebel government, this afternoon, voiced its support for a declaration by its armed wing, which vowed to attack US vessels in the Red Sea if Washington launched strikes on Iran.

“We affirm the Republic of Yemen's commitment to the armed forces’ declaration that they are ready to target US ships and warships in the Red Sea,” the government said in a statement following the US strikes on Iran.

Israel’s airspace is set to reopen at 2 p.m. local time following a temporary suspension of takeoffs and landings earlier in the day, the Transportation Ministry announced.

The shutdown came in response to the escalating regional tensions after the US strike on Iran.

With the airspace reopening, efforts to safely bring home stranded Israeli citizens will resume in full force.

“We continue to act with determination while taking precautions to return all Israeli citizens to their homes,” said Transportation Minister Miri Regev.

“This is a complex national security operation that requires close coordination between all agencies, and we will continue until the last Israeli returns home safely.”

Stock exchanges in Israel and Saudi Arabia rose today as investors largely shrugged off the potential risks stemming from the US air strikes on Iran, reported Bloomberg.

Israel’s TA-35 benchmark index climbed 1.2%, while Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index gained 1%.

Bank stocks led the rally in both markets, signaling investor confidence despite rising geopolitical tensions.

The Israeli Health Ministry stated that 86 people were hospitalized following the latest wave of Iranian missile strikes, it has been learnt from a Times of Israel report.

Among them, two individuals are in moderate condition, while 77 are in good condition.

Four victims are suffering from acute anxiety.

Three others are still undergoing medical evaluation, and their conditions have not yet been determined.

Qatar, which hosts the largest US military base in the Middle East, expressed deep concern following US air strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran.

In a statement, the Qatari foreign ministry warned that “the current dangerous escalation in the region may lead to catastrophic consequences at both the regional and international levels.”

Earlier in the day, the agency had confirmed that there had been no increase in off-site radiation levels following the strikes on Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged Iran to return to the negotiating table following U.S. airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities.

“Iran can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, and the U.S. has taken action to alleviate that threat,” Starmer said in a post on social media platform X.

Iran has denounced the recent U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear facilities as a declaration of war, vowing to defend its sovereignty with full force if necessary.

In a statement published by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry accused Washington of launching a “dangerous war” that violates international norms.

In the meantime, Iranian authorities executed a man today who was convicted of spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, the judiciary announced, as hostilities between Iran and Israel entered their tenth day.

Majid Mosayebi was hanged following the completion of legal proceedings and confirmation of his sentence by the Supreme Court, the judiciary’s Mizan Online outlet reported.

Officials said he had attempted to pass “sensitive information” to Israeli intelligence, reports AFP.

The execution comes amid a broader crackdown, with Iranian authorities detaining multiple individuals accused of espionage for Israel since the start of hostilities on June 13.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is scheduled to hold a press conference this evening, at 5:30 pm IST, to provide updates on the military strikes ordered by Trump against three of Iran’s most fortified nuclear facilities.

The briefing will also feature Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine and comes in the wake of Trump's national address, in which he declared the strikes a “spectacular military success.”

Meanwhile, Iraq just issued a strong warning that the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

Government spokesperson Basim Alawadi expressed Baghdad's "deep concern and strong condemnation" of the attacks, stating, “This military escalation constitutes a grave threat to peace and security in the Middle East and poses serious risks to regional stability.

El Al Israel Airlines has canceled all scheduled flights through June 27 following the Israeli government's decision to close national airspace due to the escalating security situation.

In addition, the airline has suspended new bookings for flights departing through July 15, citing uncertainty over the evolving conflict. El Al said it will continue to assess the situation and provide updates as conditions change.

Several buildings were severely damaged in Tel Aviv after being hit by an Iranian missile, Israeli emergency services confirmed.

The strike marks one of the most direct and damaging attacks on Israeli soil since the latest escalation began.

“This is a large-scale destruction site. Several two-story residential buildings were severely damaged, and some collapsed,” said Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical service.

Emergency crews, including police and bomb disposal units, rushed to multiple impact sites.

Israel Police confirmed the presence of munition debris in central Israel, while a city official in Haifa also reported a projectile strike in the northern city.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said search and rescue teams were operating across at least 10 different locations following the barrage of missile strikes launched from Iran.

"Search and Rescue forces are operating in several locations across the country in which reports of fallen projectiles were received," the IDF noted in a statement.

At least eleven people were injured in the attacks, according to MDA, as emergency services continued efforts to assist those trapped and assess the extent of the destruction.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said today that it has found no signs of increased radiation levels following U.S. airstrikes on three key nuclear facilities in Iran, including the heavily fortified Fordow site.

“Following attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran — including Fordow — the IAEA can confirm that no increase in off-site radiation levels has been reported as of this time,” the agency said in a statement.

The U.N. nuclear watchdog added that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further assessments as more information becomes available.

New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters has expressed deep concern over the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, warning against further escalation in the Middle East.

“We acknowledge developments in the last 24 hours, including President Trump’s announcement of US strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran,” Peters said in a statement.

In the last two days, four special flights carrying hundreds of Indian nationals from Iran have already landed in India as part of Operation Sindhu, New Delhi’s emergency evacuation mission triggered by the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel.

Israeli PM Netanyahu convened a high-level security meeting with top officials that lasted throughout the duration of the U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, according to a source cited in a CNN report.

The emergency security cabinet session began at 10 p.m. local time (3 p.m. ET) on Saturday and continued into the early hours of Sunday, concluding shortly after the U.S. launched its strikes around 3 a.m. local time (8 p.m. ET).

The five-hour meeting focused on real-time assessments and strategic responses to the rapidly unfolding situation.

Israel has once again closed its airspace to all civilian takeoffs and landings, halting commercial aviation as a precautionary measure against potential Iranian retaliation following U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The renewed closure will further delay the repatriation of thousands of Israeli citizens stranded abroad since hostilities with Iran escalated on June 13.

Authorities had planned to begin permitting some outbound flights starting Monday, but that timeline is now suspended indefinitely.

A lawmaker representing Iran’s Fordow region has stated that initial investigations have found no signs of radioactive contamination following the U.S. airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear sites, including the deeply buried Fordow facility.

The statement comes as Saudi Arabia’s nuclear regulatory authority also confirmed that no radioactive traces have been detected in the kingdom or across other Gulf Arab states in the aftermath of the strikes.

In a post on social media platform X, Saudi Arabia’s nuclear regulator stated, “Environmental monitoring stations have not recorded any abnormal radiation levels in Saudi Arabia or neighboring Gulf countries following the recent developments in Iran.”

Israeli Minister Eli Cohen has hailed the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites as a “historic day” for Israel, the U.S., and the Western world, praising Trump for what he called a decisive step toward greater global security and stability.

“Last night, President Trump took a major step to strengthen security, stability, and prosperity across the globe—and especially in the Middle East,” Cohen said in a statement on X.

“Once again, he has proven himself to be one of the greatest friends the Jewish people have ever known.”

Cohen likened the latest round of strikes to a fatal blow against Iran’s regional influence, stating: “Iran’s house of cards is collapsing, the octopus’s arms have been severed, and now we are striking at the head of the snake.”

He expressed gratitude to both Trump and Israeli PM Netanyahu “for leading this campaign” and concluded his remarks with a biblical reference, “The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.”

Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation has officially confirmed that three of its nuclear facilities were struck in overnight airstrikes, describing the incident as a “savage assault".

According to a statement carried by the state-run IRNA news agency, the organisation condemned the attacks but vowed resilience, declaring it “will not allow the development of this national industry to be halted.”

A senior official from Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement warned today that Trump would be held personally responsible for American airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

“Trump must bear the consequences,” Hizam al-Assad, a member of the Houthi political bureau, posted on X, in response to the U.S. attacks on sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

The Houthis, a key component of Iran’s so-called “Axis of Resistance,” have previously launched missile and drone attacks against U.S. and Israeli-linked ships in regional waters. Sunday's warning signals a potential escalation in the broader conflict, raising fears of a multi-front confrontation across the Middle East.

President Trump, during his address this morning, also lauded the American forces involved and expressed hope that further military action would not be necessary.

"I want to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those magnificent machines tonight," Trump said in an address from the White House. "Hopefully, we will no longer need their services and this capacity. I hope that so."

"I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. We worked as a team like perhaps no team has ever worked before, and we've gone a long way to erasing this horrible threat to Israel. I want to thank the Israeli military for the wonderful job they've done."

President Trump, in the televised address, warned Iran that the U.S. would target additional sites with even greater force if Tehran refuses to seek peace in the aftermath of U.S. strikes on three major Iranian nuclear facilities.

“Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier,” Trump declared from the White House.

“This cannot continue,” the president said.

“There will be either peace or there will be tragedy for Iran, far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days.”

He further warned that the U.S. has identified “many targets left,” and stressed that additional operations could be executed “with precision, speed, and skill” and “in a matter of minutes.”

“Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated,” Trump said in a televised address.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General António Guterres has issued a stark warning following U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, calling the escalation “dangerous” and urging restraint from all parties.

“I am gravely alarmed by the use of force by the United States against Iran today,” Guterres said in a post on X.

“This is a dangerous escalation in a region already on the edge – and a direct threat to international peace and security.”

Guterres called on all UN Member States “to de-escalate and to uphold their obligations under the UN Charter and other rules of international law.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this morning, hailed President Trump’s decision to launch airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, calling it a “historic” move that would reshape the future of the region.

“Congratulations, President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history,” Netanyahu said in a video statement released early today.

His remarks came just hours after Trump confirmed that U.S. stealth bombers had struck Iran’s key nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

The U.S. gave Israel prior notice before carrying out its airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, according to two officials cited in a CNN report.

Following the operation, President Trump spoke with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, two senior White House officials confirmed. The strikes, which Trump hailed as "very successful," have heightened fears of broader regional instability and potential Iranian retaliation.

Trump had been weighing military strikes for several days.

Earlier on Saturday, Israel claimed responsibility for killing two senior commanders of Iran’s elite Quds Force and said it had targeted multiple Iranian military installations.

Meanwhile, in a rare breach, two Iranian drones penetrated Israeli airspace, further intensifying tensions.

President Trump has announced that he will address the nation at 7:30 a.m. IST (10:00 p.m. ET) from the White House, following the U.S. military’s entry into the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.

Regional officials in Iran have confirmed that key nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan were attacked in a series of coordinated airstrikes.

According to Iranian state-affiliated media outlets Fars and IRNA, a spokesperson for the Qom region’s crisis management center stated that hostile aircraft targeted the Fordow site, a deeply buried, heavily fortified facility known to house advanced uranium enrichment centrifuges.

“A few hours ago, following activation of Qom air defense systems and identification of hostile targets, a part of the area of the Fordow nuclear site was attacked by enemy air forces,” the spokesperson said.
