An earthquake shook the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Sunday afternoon. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the tremor measured 5.4 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 90 kilometres in the Andaman Sea.
Meanwhile, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported the quake at a slightly higher magnitude of 6.07, with a depth of around 10 kilometres.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
