Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. Here’s what users can do to stay protected or move to Windows 11.

The October 14, 2025 is almost here. In just three, the Windows 10 operating system will reach its end of support cycle and Microsft has confirmed that it will stop offering any new features, support and security support to almost over millions of PCs globally running on Window 10 operating system.

However, it is worth noting that, the PCs will continue to function, but Microsoft will stop providing security patches, bug fixes, and technical support and this raises big concern for hacks, attacks and more. Having said that, the company has dropped some options for these users and have asked them to take necessary actions in case they want to keep their data secure and receive new updates and features as well.

Windows 10 Extended security updates

To help users who wish to continue using Windows 10, Microsoft is introducing the Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. The ESU coverage will run from October 15, 2025, to October 13, 2026, and can be renewed annually for up to three years.
