Meta is set to introduce new artificial intelligence (AI) features as a part of its Meta AI program soon. These features aim to make WhatsApp more user-friendly and efficient. The first feature on the list is the message summarisation tool. Moreover, the messaging platform is also working on a new feature that lets users generate AI-powered chat wallpapers.
WhatsApp message summarization: Here’s how it will work
WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo discovered two new AI-powered features in recent beta versions of WhatsApp for Android. The first is the message summarisation feature, currently in development, which can help users catch up through the summary of missed chats. Hence, whenever a user receives a certain number of messages, they will see a new ‘Summarise with Meta AI’ button in the chat. Clicking on this button will generate a summary of the received message so that the user can read the summary of all the chats.
It will be available across all chat forms, including private chats, groups, and channels on WhatsApp. Users who are part of multiple active groups and channels will benefit the most from this feature. Moreover, all the chats while uploading to Meta AI will have end-to-end encryption, and this feature is expected to be included in a future update.
The second feature that is in development is an AI-powered wallpaper generator that uses Meta AI. With the help of a new Create with AI option in the Wallpaper section of the WhatsApp settings, users can write prompts to generate images and set them as their chat wallpaper. Additionally, WhatsApp will allow users to refine or modify their prompts to generate more wallpaper options.
